Yes, it’s finally summer! June is soon over so we decided to collect our favourite album so far from 2017. So much music this year and this is the albums (in no particular order) we’ve been listening to on repeat. Let us know what we have missed.
Well, this indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York blew us away this year. Adrianne Lenker beautiful voice and lyrics together with fantastic pop music. We can’t stand still when we listen to “Shark Smile” and it’s our favourite noise this year.
That voice! That melody! Everything fits perfectly on Perfume Genius fourth studio album. No Shape is a great album with songs that gets better with every listen. “Now watch me, Watch me walk on by, Honestly, Next one won’t be free”.
Venezuelan music producer Arca released his self-titled third studio album earlier this year. It is his first album where Arca himself is singing in Spanish. Which we have to give thanks to Björk, because she was the one that convinced him to sing to his music.
We can’t stop listening to this album! The first song DNA. got us trapped and every beat and rhyme after that got us hypnotized. Brilliant.
Michael Mayer made one of this years best mixtape. Filled with disco, electro, techno it made us dance from the start. This is one of our favourite from the DJ-Kicks series.
Every time Ellen Allien drop something new it’s on our top ten charts of that year. Always interesting and the perfect techno for the dance floor at 5:30 in the morning.
One of this year’s albums with the most expectations on it and The xx delivered. A music record that will be heard throughout the summer.
All Them Witches
A great psychedelic rock album from Nashville and All Them Witchess. “Sleeping Through The War” is their fourth record and they have a created a unique sound that we love!
Kelly Lee Owens
This is Kelly Lee Owens first solo album and it’s massive. Her beautiful voice together with techno beats got us dancing. It will be on repeat this summer and we hope to see her performing live this summer.
Gave more life to all the parties earlier this year when it dropped. Amazing.
Max Richter’s music to the Wayne McGregor’s award-winning ballet triptych, inspired by the writings of Virginia Woolf. Beautiful and a perfect harmony with the minimal electro and the classical music.
Probably the best hip hop album this year.
Young Thug seems to be everywhere this year and and so is the “Beautiful Thugger Girls” album. Everywhere we go this seems to be on repeat.
This album was worth the wait since her first album “Z” from 2016. Beautiful songs and brilliant lyrics.
Jens Lekman is amazing as always. Great pop album that will last a lifetime.
